Due to COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings, from 16 April 2020 until further notice, Council Meetings will be conducted electronically and the recording will be uploaded onto our website – via You Tube (excluding confidential items).

This measure is in line with Australian Government guidelines in response to COVID-19 and has been taken to ensure the safety of Elected Members, Council staff and any members of the public who wish to access the meeting.  Recent variations to the Local Government Act and Regulations have made electronic participation in Council meetings legally possible.

Elected Members and Council Officers will attend the meetings via remote access.

Members of the public who wish to view the meetings will be able to do so online

Recordings of proceedings are not an official record of the meeting; they do not replace the official Minutes of the meeting.

While every effort will be made to ensure this recording is available, the Northern Areas Council takes no responsibility for, and accepts no liability, in the event that recording of a meeting on the Council’s website is unavailable due to external interruptions.
