Published 18th June 2026

Northern Areas Council advises that two former Jamestown residents have been convicted following an incident at the Jamestown Waste Transfer Station in November last year.

Council staff identified the individuals entering the facility unlawfully, which led to a police investigation and subsequent court proceedings.

The female offender was placed on a six-month good behaviour bond and fined $200. The male offender was ordered to pay $300 in compensation for damages caused, along with $766 in court costs.

Council thanks Jamestown Police for their assistance with follow-up enquiries and support throughout the investigation.

Northern Areas Council reminds all residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or illegal dumping.

Reports can be made to South Australia Police on 131 444 or to Council on (08) 8664 1139.
