Project overview:
The Jamestown Stormwater Diversion Project aims to reduce flood risk and improve local drainage capacity.
Stage 1 of the Jamestown Stormwater Diversion Project (Cockburn Road, from Jones Street to OD5 Road) was completed in November 2025, on time and within budget.
Stage 1 works included:
- Construction of a new open channel to improve stormwater flow
- Replacement of culverts at Dublin Street to increase capacity
- Removal of informal access roads to enhance drainage efficiency
A review of the overall program is now underway to confirm the next steps for the project. Funding for the project is shared, with the SA Stormwater Management Authority contributing 50%.
