Rocky River ’Riters began in 1994 as an initiative of the Rocky River Health Services to assist rural people to express themselves, especially in difficult times of drought and rural decline. It began as a creative writing program, and over the years has developed into a reading group and a support and encouragement group. Our members come from diverse backgrounds.
We come from Gladstone in South Australia and surrounding towns including Laura, Crystal Brook Georgetown, Jamestown, Peterborough, Red Hill and Narridy. The Rocky River flows through this area and is the connecting link in the area.
