What's Next for Laura: Community Workshop

Published 9th September 2025

Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North (RDAYMN), in partnership with the Northern Areas Council, hosted a community workshop on Monday, 8 September 2025 to explore ‘What’s Next’ for Laura.

Facilitated by Daniel, Chief Executive of RDAYMN, the session gave people the chance to share feedback and ideas on how Laura could benefit from the State Government’s $1 million Community Infrastructure Program.

Around 50 people attended and contributed to the discussion. The presentation slides are available via the link below, and we encourage everyone to complete the online survey by 15 September 2025.

This isn’t the end of the conversation—community feedback is welcome at any time by contacting Council directly.

Where to from here?

  • Survey & Workshop Outcomes. Feedback gathered will be summarised and shared back with the community for prioritisation.
  • Committee. A call has been made for local representatives to join a committee to help shape and deliver this initiative. Ideally, a few people who reflect and represent a broad cross-section of the community.

You can nominate yourself—or someone else with their permission—by emailing admin@nacouncil.sa.gov.au with your name and contact details. Nominate by 15 September 2025.

This committee will include elected members and will be supported by Council and RDA staff to refine priorities, ensure projects align with funding requirements, and oversee planning and delivery.
