Community Noticeboard Guidelines

Northern Areas Council encourages local community groups and event organisers to submit their events for promotion to the community.

You are welcome to submit your community activity if it:

  • - occurs within the Northern Areas Council area
  • - is open to the public
  • - is socially inclusive.
  • - The application may be refused if it:
  • - conflicts with the Council’s values, policies and statutory responsibilities
  • - promotes specific religious or political activities
  • - has a governance focus eg member or board meetings
  • - the information is incomplete
  • - is offensive or abusive
  • - is promoting a business or commercial enterprise
  • - promote private activities eg garage sales
  • - is held outside of the Northern Areas Council region.
  • - Northern Areas Council reserves the right to edit, decline or remove listings at its discretion

Application procedure

  • - All requests for display of Events should be submitted using the below application form
  • - Applications must be received at least two weeks before the start date of the activity.
