Undergrounding of Power Lines in the Western Section of Ayr Street Jamestown

Following previous advice from South Australian Power Networks (SAPN) regarding upcoming works at Ayr Street in Jamestown to underground the power lines, SA Power Networks have provided an update as to the commencement of initial works. This phase will consist of works only to the Western End of Ayr Street as part of the overall project.

Commencing from Monday the 19th of February 2024, contractors for SA Power Networks will begin underground trenching and the laying of associated conduit along Ayr Street on the Western Section. Works are planned to commence initially on the Western End at the RM Williams Way/Spalding Road/Vohr Street intersection. Work will then reconvene along Ayr Street, linking in with previous work to the Eastern Section.

As per previous work, once it is complete the contractors have advised that they will reinstate the trenches. Safety and noise reduction barriers will be erected and traffic management advice has been arranged by SA Power Networks with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport, who own and operate the roadway. Some car parking will be impacted during this period, but members of the public will still have access to the shops along Ayr Street.

SA Power Networks have advised that this phase of work is anticipated to be completed by the 5th of April 2024.
