Communicable Diseases

The South Australian Public Health Act 2011 lists notifiable diseases that must be reported by the medical profession to SA Health.

Reporting enables the occurrence of these diseases in the community to be monitored and investigated to prevent the continued spread of disease.

The Communicable Diseases Control Branch (CDCB) often refers cases of notifiable diseases to the Council for further investigation.

The You've Got What? website provides simple explanations of many different infectious diseases that affect children and adults.

Brochures and fact sheets covering these topics and relevant reporting form links are also available on the CDCB pages of SA Health’s website.
