Council Transfer Stations are located at Gladstone, Jamestown and Spalding. These sites will close on Catastrophic Total Fire Ban Days and public holidays.

All material must be separated and Council staff will assist you with any queries you may have.

Asbestos
Northern Areas Council does not accept Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) at any of its three Waste Transfer Stations. If you think that any of the surfaces you are intending to be working on may contain asbestos, please contact a licensed asbestos removalist.

Tyres
Council refers tyres to tyre replacement operations where tyres can be disposed for a fee.
TechCollect Drop Off Site
Gladstone, Jamestown and Spalding Waste Transfer Stations are all a TechCollect Drop Off Site.
TechCollect is a free national recycling service for computers, computer accessories and TVs (e-waste). TechCollect was established in response to the Federal Government’s National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS) and is the only not-for-profit industry backed e-waste recycling service approved under the NTCRS.
