Northern Areas Council Celebrates Community Project Grant 2023/24 Round

Published 6th December 2023

The Northern Areas Council is delighted to announce the success of the Community Project Grant 2023/24 Round, where 16 community non-profit clubs and organizations secured funding for a diverse range of projects.

The Council has demonstrated its commitment to community development by allocating $31,000 to this year's funding program. Combined with the value of volunteer labour and contributions from community groups, the overall investment in this year's projects exceeds $85,000.

A celebratory morning tea was hosted by the Northern Areas Council on Tuesday, November 28. This event provided an opportunity to acknowledge and honour the successful groups whose projects will contribute to the betterment of our community.

"It's heartening to see the impact of the Community Project Grant on our local clubs and organisations. The dedication of these groups, combined with the support from the Council, showcases the spirit of community collaboration". Mayor Sue Scarman said.

Jemma Tabone, Event Coordinator of the Jamestown Pageant Committee is appreciative of the opportunity this funding provides.

“The 2023 Jamestown Pageant Committee is very grateful to receive a Community Project Grant. We are passionate about providing a great experience for our community, and we are excited to offer free attendee activities thanks to this funding”.

The Community Grants Program, initiated by the Council over a decade ago, continues to be a catalyst for positive change. This program has proven highly successful, with numerous groups from across the Council area benefiting from funding towards key projects that enhance our community's well-being.
